The eighty-three thousand-square-foot Atlanta History Center will be the site of this year's Tuesday evening banquet. The museum is the largest museum in Georgia devoted exclusively to interpretations of history and one of the largest museums devoted to urban and suburban history in the United States. The museum's focus is to tell the story of all Atlanta, from Indian settlements and pioneer beginnings to the international city of today. Changing exhibitions, some developed by the Atlanta History Center and some loaned from such prestigious museums as the Smithsonian Institution, complement permanent exhibitions. The exhibitions showcase real artifacts supplemented by high-tech video and interactive hands-on areas.

Bring your walking shoes. This is not a sit down banquet. Rather, food and drink will be available throughout the Atlanta History Center while you walk around and enjoy the museum.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden germinated from a conversation. Developed in the early 1970s by a group of plant enthusiasts it was officially incorporated in 1976 on land belonging to the City of Atlanta in Piedmont Park, the city's largest public park. The Garden's mission is multifaceted: To develop and maintain plant collections for the purpose of display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment. Nowhere is the wonder of The Atlanta Botanical Garden more vivid than in the outdoor collection. Best of all, it is a wonder that changes - sometimes subtly, often boldly - as the seasons change. New cultivars, unusual plant groupings, color and texture mixture are all used to stimulate the imagination and spark ideas that can come to life in private gardens. Your garden, perhaps.

From the backyard wildlife habitat to the tranquility of the Japanese garden you'll experience the wondrous beauty of the outdoors in all its varied glory. Indoors offers a completely different world. The tropical environment houses about 90 different plant species and also includes six species of birds. Desert plants, orchids and much more await your visit to Atlanta's thriving Garden oasis.

Following this gardening expedition, your group will make their way down the street to Agnes and Muriel's. This Atlanta favorite features "food you wish your Mom cooked." It is good old-fashioned "Mom food" with a modern twist, served on retro Fifties/Sixties china, in a converted brick bungalow inspired by Jane, June Cleaver and Pee Wee Herman.
