North Shore Scenic Tour

Thursday, October 5, 2006

1:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Your first stop is the Capilano Fish Hatchery that houses an extensive educational display covering many aspects of the salmon life cycle and the functioning of the hatchery.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge was originally built in 1889; it is the world's longest and highest suspension bridge - 450 feet (140 metres) and 230 feet (70 metres) above the Capilano Canyon.

The story centre at the Capilano Suspension Bridge brings visitors face to face with the pioneers who shaped the history of Capilano Suspension Bridge and Vancouver. A colorful totem park displays over 25 authentic totem poles and life size statues. Treetops Adventure is the park's newest attraction - seven suspension bridges through the evergreens taking you up to 100 feet (30 metres) above the forest floor.

Continuing on your North Shore Adventure . . . your next stop is Grouse Mountain! At the foot of Grouse Mountain you will board the Grouse Mountain Skyride and climb 4,100 feet in a stately, scenic voyage up forested slopes. As you rise, the views grow ever more spectacular - or mysterious if you plunge into the swirling mountain mists. You will soon dock at the alpine station and disembark at the Peak of Vancouver, where scenery, wildlife and adventure abound. Visit the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife and see orphaned Grizzly Bears and Grey Wolves. Return to Vancouver via the spectacular Lions Gate Bridge.
